Valence 0.4 is a big release. We’re trying to stick to our two-week intervals; 0.3 was released very close to 0.2, so we extended our release deadline for 0.4.
Among the most notable features are a complete redo of all the atom artwork in this release. The other big feature was the engine and atom generation — atoms are now randomly strewn across the board periodically, depending on which level you’re on. This increases the difficulty significantly, and downplays the benefit of creating long chains of atoms, so the balance is better (and it feels like a real game now that ramps up in difficulty).
For 0.5, we’re hoping to finish inert atoms, more UI changes, and hopefully the final piece of functionality — puzzle mode. Stay tuned! Or play Valence 0.4 now!
Description: Valence 0.4 comes with a complete redo of the artwork. In addition, atoms now spew randomly across the board on a set time interval (decreases per level). This makes the game quite a bit more challenging!
