Valence 0.3: Balancing Fix

Valence 0.2 was fatally flawed; there were huge balance issues, ranging from small molecules not forming properly, to high levels giving you huge chains of 10-20 atoms in a single molecule, to game freezes.

Well, we’ve done a lot of performance tweaks, and we’ve done our best to minimize the long chains. It’s not entirely possible, but we think it’s now much, much better.

Hence Valence 0.3 — a balanced game. And the higher levels do get hard, by removal of lower-valence (+-1) atoms.

You’ll also notice “clumps” of similar-valence atoms; that does also reduce the chance of large chains of atoms.

There is one major piece of functionality left, something that was finalized today, which will balance out the difficulty further (and make it harder)! And there’s another game-mode that’s in the works, too. We hope 0.4 will have at least the major functionality complete.

Try Valence 0.3 now!

Valence 0.3: Balancing Fix

Description: Valence 0.3 comes with a balancing fix that prevents long chains, easy levels, and freezes; and atoms now combine in small clumps (so long chains are much harder to come by).
